NGO “Station Kharkiv” with the support of NED announces a competition of micro-projects “Participation in the community”. This competition will provide an opportunity for activists from territorial communities in eastern Ukraine to implement their own projects aimed at strengthening participatory democracy in their communities. Micro-projects should be aimed at introducing, improving or evaluating tools for involving the public in decision-making in the territorial communities of eastern Ukraine.

Three intense days in the difficult conditions of modern life in Ukraine.Ideaton took place! And neither regular lack of light and heat, nor poor train traffic prevented us.We managed to do a lot in such a short time.We recreated the work of the city council, played games for exclusive money, took part in the auction of ideas and processed grant applications.And most importantly, they saw their old friends and made new ones!We thank the participants for their fruitful work.Respect to the coach and the team for working in extreme conditions!

A three-day ideathon “Dissemination of participatory democracy tools in the territorial communities of Eastern Ukraine” started today in Ivano-Frankivsk.The event was held in extreme conditions without light and heating, but with motivated participants and in a warm and friendly atmosphere!Some activists waited for 10 hours at the train station for their train to Ivano-Frankivsk, some went by hitchhiking, but we all gathered and worked productively.And what romantic coffee breaks and dinner we had! Mmmm! In the dark, by candlelight…Conclusion: if Ukrainians decided to do something, they can not be stopped by darkness, cold or lack of trains.We are ready to work on building democracy and influencing the authorities in the country even without light.We sincerely thank the project team for brilliant crisis management!We are proud of all participants who, despite the hardships, have a sincere desire to work!

Regular training “Tools of public involvement in decision-making in local self-government bodies of Ukraine”.

The first day of the regular training on participatory democracy was surprisingly easy and pleasant.Participants have a great interest in the tools of influence on the government.Because the meme: “Sorry, the war in the country…” is already becoming a slogan and the main argument of many officials.Therefore, precisely because there is war now, all state institutions and local self-government should work to improve the lives and security of their communities.
