NGO “Station Kharkiv” with the support of NED announces a competition of micro-projects “Participation in the community”. This competition will provide an opportunity for activists from territorial communities in eastern Ukraine to implement their own projects aimed at strengthening participatory democracy in their communities. Micro-projects should be aimed at introducing, improving or evaluating tools for involving the public in decision-making in the territorial communities of eastern Ukraine.
The purpose of the competition is to disseminate participatory democracy technologies in the territorial communities of eastern Ukraine through the implementation of their own micro-projects by community activists in the region.
Three types of projects are accepted for the competition (you should choose one type)
analytical – a local NGO will assess the degree of dissemination of participatory democracy tools in the territorial communities of its district/region;
practical – a local CSO will test the effectiveness of participatory democracy tools available in the community by using one of them;
instrumental – a local NGO will ensure the implementation of the missing participatory democracy procedure in the local self-government body of a particular territorial community.
Geography of the project: CSOs registered in Donetsk, Luhansk, Poltava and Sumy regions (including CSOs that evacuated to other regions after the beginning of the war in 2014) are invited to participate in the competition.
The project implementation period should not exceed 3 months (including the submission of final narrative and financial reports). Projects must be implemented between January 10, 2023 and April 10, 2023.
The size of the mini-grant: on average – UAH 50,000, but may not exceed UAH 54,000.

Application requirements:
Project applications with attachments must be submitted electronically: the form is filled in online, the project description and budget are uploaded at the end of the form. The maximum file size is 1 MB.
The program does not provide grants to political parties, state or municipal institutions and their affiliated organizations.
The results of the competition will be announced on the official Facebook page and the website of the NGO “Station Kharkiv” by December 30, 2022.
The final decision on the results of the competition is not subject to revision.
