In December, the first stage of the project
“Promoting Participatory Democracy in Territorial Communities” was completed.
It included 128 hours of offline and 60 hours of online trainings, seminars, and mentoring sessions for representatives of local self-government bodies and civil society organizations from small communities. Participants came from Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, and Mykolaiv regions.
During this time, participants worked on strategic planning, MEAL, data collection and analysis, fundraising, project management, participatory democracy, community conflicts and ways to resolve them. They also gained practical skills in using Google tools, project and tax reporting, grant funding, and procurement rules.
For us, it was important not only to share knowledge, but also to create a space for support, reset, resource finding, partnerships, and new horizons for cooperation.
We are especially pleased that some communities have already signed memorandums of cooperation and are ready for joint work on recovery and development.
The project is implemented with the financial support of NED (National Endowment for Democracy, USA) and is aimed at the recovery and development of human capital in territorial communities.
